• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 cup melted butter
• 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup light corn syrup
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• Heat the oven to 350 degrees16.
• In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients for the crust.
• Mix at low speed on a mixer until the mixture is crumbly.
• Press the crumb mixture into an ungreased 9x9 inch pan.
• Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes until light brown, then remove from the oven.
• In the same bowl, combine all the topping ingredients except the pecans and beat at medium speed until well blended.
• Pour the topping over the partially baked crust.
• Sprinkle with pecans.
• Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
• Cool and cut into bars.
• Store loosely covered.
• The recipe yields 2-3 dozen bars.
